"Reforming UN Peacekeeping Mandates to Address Proxy Warfare and State-Sponsored Militia Escalations in the Middle East"
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the UN’s principal organ responsible for maintaining international peace and security. At SCIMUN 2026, the UNSC will deliberate on “Reforming UN Peacekeeping Mandates to Address Proxy Warfare and State-Sponsored Militia Escalations in the Middle East.” Delegates will explore how peacekeeping operations can adapt to modern conflicts involving non-state actors, asymmetric warfare, and state-backed militias. Representing member states with
distinct political priorities, participants will engage in negotiation, coalition-building, and resolution drafting, developing strategic and diplomatic skills.
Through immersive debate and procedural engagement, delegates gain insight into the challenges faced by world leaders in sustaining peace. The UNSC simulation emphasizes ethical decision-making, collaboration, and creative problem-solving,
providing a realistic and transformative experience in international diplomacy.

Krish Agarwal
Meet The Vice Chairperson
In an era where global discourse is shaped as much by strategy as by speech, Krish Agarwal steps into the role of Vice Chairperson of the UNSC at SCIMUN 2026 with a firm belief in purposeful diplomacy and disciplined debate.
For Krish, a committee is not merely a forum — it is a geopolitical chessboard. Every motion carries weight, every alliance signals intent, and every resolution reflects the realities of power. With experience navigating high-intensity deliberations and complex policy landscapes, he brings to the dais a leadership style rooted in composure, impartiality, and intellectual rigor.
Deeply interested in global governance, strategic affairs, and policy architecture, Krish values debate that transcends surface rhetoric. He encourages delegates to move beyond performative diplomacy and toward negotiations that mirror real-world multilateral complexities.
As Vice Chairperson, Krish is committed to fostering an environment where preparation is respected, procedure is precise, and political acumen is rewarded. Delegates can expect a committee room defined by substance over spectacle and diplomacy over disruption.
At SCIMUN 2026, Krish looks forward to witnessing bold ideas, calculated compromises, and resolutions forged through thoughtful contention.
