United Nations Office on Drugs And Crime
"Combating the Rise of Synthetic Opioid Supply Chains and their Convergence with Transnational Terror Financing"
The UNODC addresses global threats from illicit drugs, organized crime, and transnational criminal networks. At SCIMUN 2026, delegates will discuss “Combating the Rise of Synthetic Opioid Supply Chains and their Convergence with Transnational Terror Financing.” They will analyze how criminal operations intersect with global security, considering policy, regulatory, and enforcement strategies. Delegates will represent nations with varying interests, negotiating international
cooperation to disrupt networks and mitigate risks. By drafting resolutions and forming coalitions, participants gain practical exposure to multilateral policymaking. The committee emphasizes analytical thinking, ethical responsibility, and the interconnected nature of crime, finance, and security in the modern world.

Ranveer Chauhan
Meet The Vice Chairperson
“Diplomacy is not the art of speaking — it is the discipline of strategic restraint.”
In an era where global discourse is shaped as much by calculation as by communication, Ranveer Chauhan assumes the role of Vice Chairperson of the UNODC Committee at SCIMUN 2026 with a steadfast commitment to purposeful diplomacy and disciplined debate.
For Ranveer, a committee is not merely a forum for dialogue — it is a geopolitical chessboard. Every motion carries consequence, every alliance signals intent, and every resolution embodies the realities of power and policy. Having navigated high-intensity deliberations and intricate policy frameworks, he brings to the dais a leadership approach defined by composure, procedural precision, and principled impartiality.
With a keen interest in global governance, strategic affairs, and institutional policy architecture, Ranveer advocates for discourse that rises above performative rhetoric. He encourages delegates to engage in negotiations that reflect the layered complexities of real-world multilateralism, where consensus is earned through calculated compromise and intellectual rigor.
As Vice Chairperson of the UNODC Committee, Ranveer is committed to cultivating an environment where preparation commands respect, procedure remains sacrosanct, and political acumen is duly recognized. Delegates may expect a committee room defined by substance over spectacle and diplomacy over disruption.
At SCIMUN 2026, Ranveer looks forward to witnessing bold initiatives, strategic collaborations, and resolutions forged through thoughtful contention — hallmarks of diplomacy conducted with both vision and vigilance.
